@miltonmueller @nielstenoever @farzanehbadii entire linguistic cultures have sprung up to deal with the cultural limitations imposed by an ascii-centric systems. here's an emergent language that i am fluent in that sprang into existence because of how difficult it is to use arabic online en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_chat_alphabet
