  1. here’s where it gets interesting. DateTime/Compare is only defined for two DateTimes. This code will always fail.

      the current compiler will emit casts anyway and fail at runtime with a pretty bad error message

          heres the catch: because the compiler is functional i can build both compilation paths and swap between them at will. no need to decide now!
