    a lot of the rhetoric around "regime change" was that brown people are too assbackwards and ignorant to understand democracy unless its forced on them violently by white people. thats why we keep getting dictators, we were told.

        looks like we're not so different after all! its almost like democracy is hard and all societies are susceptible to sliding into totalitarianism under the right circumstances! how about that. almost like the color of your skin or your religion are non issues.
