  1. probably the biggest change in perception for me as a developer in the past few years has been my appreciation for IDEs. i used to categorically reject them as over-engineered and clunky, but @JetBrainsRider has transformed the way i wrote C# and i cant go back.

      i still appreciate text editors and the gymnastics you can perform in vim or sublime text, but a tool with deep knowledge of the semantics and idioms of the language you're using is a whole other animal
