    1. experimenting with a todo graph rather than a todo list to track dependencies and break down bigger tasks. i feel like i revisit this once every few years.

    poking at it more make it clear what i need to work on next on this project: emitter_context and emit_types. it also revealed what tasks dont actually contribute to a higher level goal, and makes them easy to prune.
