where i'm at: github.com/nodejs/node/issues/1693 the latin alphabet "just works" because it was basically hardcoded into every protocol spec. supporting the written cultures of the rest of the planet requires workarounds and effort. and some assholes will still suggest "just use ascii"...Permalink On twitter.com

specifically: i am writing something that uploads to the internet archive. the way you set the metadata of an item is using http headers -- very cool! http headers apparently only support ascii -- oops! i am uploading ~2TB of mostly arabic content!On twitter.com
