    1. i think the two parties are struggling with their own demographic shifts. gop is confronting the fact that america is less white than it used to be, and poc votes can be decisive. theyve chosen to deal with that by doubling down on white identity politics and suppressing votes

    on the other hand the dems are flabbergasted by the fact that their base is increasingly *actually* left leaning and wants *actual* progressive policies. theyre dealing with that by alienating that wing of the party when they dont need them for votes. thats not sustainable.
