    1. fascinated by this 1919 soviet banknote that displays "workers of the world unite" in 7 languages including correct Arabic! they translate it as يا صعاليك جميع العالم اتحدوا which is closer to "vagabonds of the world unite" unless there is an older meaning of صعاليك i dont know?

    Lebanon would not become independent until 24 years after this banknote was first printed. I don't know what to make of that, but time is weird.
