    1. fascinated by this 1919 soviet banknote that displays "workers of the world unite" in 7 languages including correct Arabic! they translate it as يا صعاليك جميع العالم اتحدوا which is closer to "vagabonds of the world unite" unless there is an older meaning of صعاليك i dont know?

    ive seen it translated as بروليتاريون or عمال in other places, but this is the first ive seen صعاليك used
