      it's pretty hard to overstate how important it is to hear a candidate acknowledge Palestinian suffering on a national stage. voting as an Arab American tends to come down to "who do I want to bomb my people back home" which is a nightmare.

    you end up trying to figure out who will terrorize the Middle East in the most humane way. do we want drones or boots on the ground? 2016 was like that, they're all like that. the fact that a candidate could consider Arabs as something other than insects is, frankly, thrilling.
