    1. rewatching this. they start chanting allahu akbar, but one of the protesters stops and says "we are not a religion, we are lebanon, there are muslims and christians here." after a little pushback, they switched to the secular chant "the people demand the collapse of the regime" @dankar/1192936290918060032

    this is amazing and so hopeful in a lot of ways. chanting allahu akbar during an emotionally charged moment is very common among devout muslims, but they go out of their way to make any non-muslims among them feel welcome and included. I didn't think I would live to see this.
