women were granted the constitutional right to vote in america august 26, 1920. given the declaration of independence 144 years earlier in 1776, that means that as of today women have had the right to vote for roughly 40% of the existence of america

that ratio hits 50% in 2064. i will be 77 years old, which is just under this country's life expectancy so i might live to see it

of course, even by 2064 we havent achieved equality of time spent voting, in an arithmetic sense. 2064 just means 50% of american history with an exclusively male vote and 50% with a mixed vote, which means men have still been allowed to vote longer than women have.

this will always be true, of course. men will always have had 144 more years voting in this country than women ever will, which makes arithmetic equality in terms of time spent voting impossible.

if men had been denied the vote when women were granted it in 1920 then 2064 would be the year that both genders would have had 144 years of exclusive voting rights. universal suffrage following that would mean each gender experienced arithmetically equal amounts of time voting.
