    1. trying to wrap my head around the subtle distinctions between lisp macros and multistage programming. i am almost there, but still need to chew on it. i can reproduce the classic MetaOCaml example from Taha in Clojure with a bit of noise, but it seems to work out of the box?

    to be more formal about it, Taha lists three basic constructs of multistage programming in citeseerx.ist.psu.edu/viewdoc/download?doi=10.1.1.438.6924&rep=rep1&type=pdf: 1. Brackets 2. Escape 3. Run in Lisp those are 1. quote 2. unquote 3. eval again, i feel like i am missing something
