      @indiesaudi @mohfunk yeah قلب is meant primarily as a provocation/research into why non-English programming languages are so hard. قلب showed me that because of the proliferation or English language libraries, protocols, and standards, a completely non-English programming experience isnt possible.

    @indiesaudi @mohfunk the "mindless translation of scheme" is also intentional. its an implementation of norvig.com/lispy.html. the point was to make a very boring programming language who's only difference is the written language it used. that difference was enough to break text editor, github etc

      @indiesaudi @mohfunk i absolutely agree that the area has not been explored, and as you said قلب is more about politics and culture than programming language design (although its parser does support kashida/tatwil characters, so that حدد is parsed the same as حــــــدد)

        @indiesaudi @mohfunk something that has consistently come up is: whether or not thinking in arabic allows for totally different ways of perceiving programming language syntax that would be unlike anything in traditional languages. i dont have any good answers to that.
